Insurance and Fees

I am in the process of establishing contracts with Optum (UMR, United, Medica, and UHC), BCBS, HealthPartners, and UCare. Once contracted, I will be able to take all Medical Assistance (MA) plans within these networks.

Once I have established contracts with these insurance providers, if you are insured by one of these providers, it is likely that I would be considered in-network with your plan, although some plans may not be covered. It is always a good idea to check coverage. The best way to do this is to call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask to confirm whether I am in network. You will need to provide my name and may inquire about coverage for specific billing codes. Some insurance providers also have online search portals where this information can be found.

The following information may be helpful:

• The billing codes I will use are 90791 (for the initial intake session) and 90837 (for a 55-minute psychotherapy session)

• It may also be helpful to know whether your insurance has a deductible, whether the deductible applies or “does not apply” to outpatient mental health services, or what your co-insurance or co-pay is for outpatient mental health.

When using insurance, session fees are $200 for the initial intake session (60 minutes, billed using code 90791) and $180 for 55-minute therapy sessions (billed using code 90837).

If your insurance is out-of-network, I am happy to assist with creating a superbill. I am committed to supporting individuals in the process of using and figuring out insurance. I am also committed to working toward the affordability of mental health services for individuals. Many of the patients I see utilize state medical assistance (MA) and I value being able to take these plans. I also offer some sliding scale spots for those who are not insured or do not wish to use insurance. Please ask me about this option if you are interested.
